Brucy and her shoe-addiction

cat

It’s been a craaazy long time since I published a blog post! Sorry everyone, but I just have a manic time at work at the moment but I promise to find time to give you news on little Brucy! She has been behaving well recently – she stopped waiting for me behind each corner and then jumping on my feet, she doesn’t wake me up t 5am and she stopped eating everything she finds! Brucy’s new passion at the moment is shoes! Every time she sees a pair of shoes, she starts sticking her head in them and rolling around – it’s really cute!

Brucy is also coughing less at the moment, despite the pollution being extremely high in Paris. This weekend, we will be going away for the weekend and will be taking brucy with us – so adventure, here we come!

And because it’s Monday and we need some motivation, here are some cute kitten gifs!

“Cats have satellite transmitters in their butts” claims #Buzzfeed!

anigif_enhanced-28765-1395092664-1

I am massive fan of Buzzfeed, mostly because they love doing posts on cats, like this new one on: 15 Shocking Truths Behind What Your Cat Behaviours Actually Mean!

The idea is that if you think your cat is innocently rolling on its back or napping, it is actually plotting some evil plan to either scrath, bite or kill you!

Some hilarious examples include:

“Experts” say: Tail sniffing is normal between felines, and this is your cat’s way of saying hello to you.

The truth: Your cat just cleaned its butt and wants to show it off to you. Look at that sparkling clean butt and say, “Very nice butt, cat. Good job.”

“Experts” say: As kittens, cats will knead their mother’s stomach to produce milk, and this is most likely a leftover trait from kittenhood. It might also be an instinctual part of settling down to sleep.
The truth: Your cat saw an ad for baking classes in the local paper and wants to enroll. Write a check for $350 immediately.

How to grow cat grass!

grass

I think that all cats in the world love cat grass. It is full of vitamins, it is crunchy and fresh! You can either buy pre-packaged cat grass in supermarkets and at the vets or you can grow it yourself. The big secret is that “cat grass seeds” are actually simple oat or wheat seeds! So, all you need is:

– Potting soil

– Oat seeds

– Plastic pot

– Water

I normally first soak the seeds in water, in a pot, on a paper towel for a free days to get the growing. Once you see that the seeds start to grow, transfer them to your pot with soil and water it. I would say that it takes a week for the grass to grow.

You can also plant the seeds directly into the pot (without soaking them first), but then cover the pot with plastic wrap to speed-up the growing!

Do you grow your own cat grass? What are your tips?

“Shop till you drop” or what Brucy thought about the Paris Fashion Week

fw

As you know, Brucy is quite a fashionista and obviously we couldn’t miss the fashion event of the year – the Paris Fashion Week: Chanel Fall/Winter 2014 Collection. This year, Karl Lagerfeld shocked everyone when he transformed the Grand Palais into a supermarket, filling it with supermarket aisles! The models started the show casually walking down the aisles with groceries (that included cat food)! The show also included some celebrity – models like Rihanna and Cara Delevingne.

We loved the collection for its cool, urban vibe- loads of knits, leggins and sneakers! Go Karl!

Brucy at the Oscars! #selfie

oscars

Brucy and I loooove the Oscars and Ellen, so we couldn’t miss this selfie chance!

Despite the joy of watching the Oscars – Brucy had quite a difficult weekend! Saturday morning she woke everyone up early because she was meowing really loudly and then started being sick. I immediately suspected that she ate something toxic but as she eats everything she finds in the house – it was difficult to say what exactly provoked the reaction! I hid all the plants, and after a while she started feeling better.

Sunday morning the mystery was solved! I saw her eat the flower bulb of a daffodil and then a few minutes later she started being sick again! I realized that daffodils are extremely poisonous for cats and his them away. . Poor thing – I wish I knew before!

So beware of daffodils and double check your plants are not toxic for cats before buying them!
